james dean.

died 54 years ago today.

Thanks for being in this movie. {one of my favorites}

And thank you for being so unbelievably good looking.

I know basically everything about you. It is quite tragic that I never got to see your films on the big screen. {seeing as how you died 35 years before I was born, even 4 years before my dad was born}

But at least I have you in my room every night and a t-shirt with your face on it.

indecision.

I'm an extremely indecisive person. Really. Painfully indecisive. {Which is weird right? Because I am also overly opinionated to the point that people hardly care to hear my opinions (I share them far too often :)} But anyway, back to the indecision. My grandpa used to tell my mom "indecision is decision with the passage of time". Everything about this statement is true, of course. My indecisiveness often makes it difficult for me to pick favorites. However, there is something about favorites that I love. I love it when people tell me their favorites. Favorite foods, movies, songs, artists, books, people, quotes, brands, actors, bands, pretty much anything favorite--I love. I just think you can tell so much about a person by knowing their favorite things {when they're genuine}. I might be wrong, and sometimes it says nothing about people, but I think it's fun to talk about nonetheless. So, to tie these thoughts together, I would like to give credit to my grandpa's saying of indecision. I have learned in the most recent years, that by not deciding on favorites right away, I have learned a lot about myself and what my favorites truly are. Not having that premade decision in my mind, opens up limitless possibities. Indecision=decision with the passage of time. I'm thinking indecision isn't all bad, not all good either, but definitely not all bad. Get the connection? If not, don't worry, no point really. And now that I think back on this random thought-turned-ramble, it's quite meaningless.

BUT. since I love favorites so much, my favorites list will be coming soon. {I think it might be a magical experience creating such a thing}

I like knowing the things I love, it makes me feel less crazy, and a little more at home in my own body.

and that's just a little food for thought.

Pure Brilliance.

"And if the surgeon is like a poet, then the scars you have made on countless bodies are like verses into the fashioning of which you have poured your soul." - Richard Selzer

Surgery and poetry are two things that completely blow my mind. I respect them both with all of my heart. And is that quote not just so deep? I think it's amazing. I wanted to say now that I absolutely love my Creative Writing class. And at this moment I would also like to give a shout out and thank you (even though she'll never see this) to my teacher Emily Dyer for making me read such brilliant work by authors like Bryan Doyle and Richard Selzer.

I feel like everything I've read has changed my life, even if it's just in the smallest of ways. This is why I love writing. The changing of lives part. No really, I adore the fact that that is even possible through something so simple, through something we use so regularly. Words can change lives. How cool is that??

CONFESSIONS.

Hi my name is Molly Jane Moon and I have a blog-changing problem. It's serious. For some reason I feel the need to constantly be changing the look of my blog. Hopefully, someday, I'll settle on something amazing. I haven't found that yet, so please bear with me as I keep changing it. gracias.

I would also now like to point out that sometimes I get anxiety when I get really hot, I'm in a big crowd, or I can't make a decision (which is often). I tend to blush a lot, especially when I'm not even embarrassed. I wish my blog were cooler and that I actually wrote down half of what I am thinking (I think way too much and some of my thoughts might even be brilliant! if I only remembered what they were.) I can't whistle very well. I buy way too many t-shirts. I hate it when the conditioner and shampoo run out at different times. I hate shaving my legs, but love when they're smooth. I rarely do my homework. I love writing, but rarely do it. I think sunglasses are amazing and when I'm feeling bold I paint my nails red. Someday I would like to be considered classy like Audrey Hepburn. I am a bad driver and have no depth perception. I love a boy named Vaughan. I make hundreds of to-do lists and lists of things that I want/need but hardly ever do I use them or fulfill their contents. I love the smell of fresh laundry (I don't even know how to do laundry...shhh don't tell) I am not a fan of huge parties. Most of the time I'd rather watch a movie or read a book.

Just a few confessions of mine I needed to get out.

The end.

and straight on til morning.

Cute moment of the day:

Boyfriend sent me a voice memo playing a song from Peter Pan "The second star to the right..." Isn't he so cute? I think so.

Anxiety of the day:

SPIN CLASS

Umm....not looking forward to it! I'm pretty sure it's going to kick my butt and then do it fifty more times.

My first experience with Spinning: Whitney and I went to the intro class on Saturday. Bert, who happens to be just an all around good guy, was our intstructor. He's pretty awesome, got us way pumped. He even kept asking me if I had come to spin before (Yeah, I was that good, guess I just look like a pro.) So he was teaching us his "rules" and had us commit to come five more times. Of course, Whitney and I both, were feeling like we could do anything at that point. Five more times?? No big deal! But it just so happens that after that class was over we had only done about 12 minutes of spinning. 12 minutes!!! And I thought I was going to DIE. I didn't even participate the whole time we were doing the 12 minute workout because I couldn't! BUT. We did commit to five more times. Shoot me. I am scared. 6:15 tonight I'm pretty sure going tonight will be suicidal. 45 minutes of pure spin intensity!??!? WOW. Wish me luck.

Dear Whitney: If you make it through this and I don't, I just want you to know that you can have my optimus prime Tshirt. and the harry potter one that we made together, because yours didn't work.

Seasonal Bliss.

my feelings for sweet Summer.
Dear Summer,
Thank you for treating me so well. I thoroughly enjoyed your long, homeworkless nights. You always knew how to fill my days with nothing yet still make me happy. Thanks for the warm sun-filled days (with a few rainy ones thrown in). I have loved wearing my shorts and my swimsuit. The breeze you brought with you was very kind. BBQs, parties, swimming, my first trip to Lake Powell, reading whatever and whenever I please, wonderful summer movies, and a lot of ice cream. I will love you forever, but I'm ready for Fall.

Thanks again,
xo molly jane

my love for Fall.
Dear Fall,
Oh how I love you. I can feel you coming near. You bring so many great things into my life. Returning to school and feeling you inch closer fills my mind with memories and excitement for the future (whether that be near or distant.) I absolutely adore everything that you bring. I can practically smell you in the air, I can taste your yumminess. Leaves slowly shift from one color to the next. The night air is no longer free and warm, but crisp and mysterious. I love that about you. Everything is darker and richer. Deep oranges, reds, and greens. Boots, scarves, jackets. All ready for your new season. Thank you for being here so soon, and also thank you for bringing me that much closer to my beloved snow (probably the top of my list for why I love Fall.) Thank you.

All my love,
xo molly jane

Favorite Quote of the Day
Boy: "Yeah, I ran the St. George Marathon"
Girl: "Oh really? How long is that one?"
Boy: "Really long.... 26.2 miles."
Girl: "Are you serious?? That is so long!?!"

In my Head: "YEah, the St. George one is quite a bit longer than most?!?!"
(yes, I am rather sarcastic in my head)

FYI:
Marathon=26.2 miles (every time)

Rachel's getting MARRIED!
She's marrying her cute boyfriend Isaiah and I am so happy for her :) December 19th in SLC. I get to be her bridesmaid! Happy day. They are going to have such a wonderful life.

Football season has begun. GO COUGS! (Yes, it is true, we really did beat the number 3 team)
GO T-BIRDS! My little brother Alex is quite the footballer. Isn't he cute? #72 for life.
Yeah, we're his number 1 fans!

I got a gym pass. I know. Shocker. Whitney and I got them on Saturday night (which was quite the night, full of fun :) Gold's Gym sure knows how to sell. I'll be up in the gym just a workin' on my fitness.
Don't you think it will be a blast? I sure do. I got it mostly for the classes.

Especially this YOGA.

I'm excited. Hopefully I'll actually use it. Maybe it will lower my stressors :)

Oh and PS. I forgot to share my love for my new laptop. It's beeeeauuuutiful. I don't know how I ever lived without it :) Thank you daddy (late graduation present)!!!

I'm a Mac girl. All the way.
