12.13.2009

dear finals,

I love the idea that you are the end of my semester. And once you are over, I get to celebrate Christmas and do whatever I want until January. I hate that you won't end for another week (and I haven't studied hardly at all).

I'm happy to be done with this semester, but sad to leave some of my awesome classes.

12.07.2009

yes please.

A couple came into the MBA office today (with uh-mazing brittish accents) and the guy picked up my name plate and said my name (in his luscious voice--picture it "Molly Jane Moon" all yummy like)
guy:
"Molly Jane Moon, so is that your name? That is a great name. I think you need to be a star just because that is your name. Really, you need to be in Hollywood."
then the girl chimed in:
"Yeah! Or ya know, one of those country cross-over stars! With that name, and your pretty hair, ah you'd be perfect! Do you play the guitar?"
me:
"No...I've always wanted to though!"
girl:
"That's okay, can you hold a guitar?"
me:
"You know it."
girl:
"There ya go! You could be way famous."
guy:
"When you're mega famous, remember I get ten percent because I discovered you."
me:
"Oh for sure, I'll give you a call!"
Dear British couple:
I LOVE YOU!
You totally and completely made my day. Thank you for seeing my star qualities... ha ha ha.
This was truly an amazing moment... If only they knew my dreams of being Taylor Swift (with a better voice of course, although just as glamorous.)
PS. I honestly melt for accents, the other day someone from New Zealand called the office and I just wanted to talk to her forever (partly because it was the same day Vaughan left to NZ). And yes, it was wonderful.

happy birthday vaughany boy

he won't be seeing this, but that's alright. vaughan is 20 TODAY. and guess what I found out? he's already gone to NEW ZEALAND. I'm pretty sure he left yesterday, but I have no idea, I just barely got a letter from him telling me this. ha. If he left yesterday, he missed his birthday... (they are 14 hours ahead of us so if he left on the 1st he would have arrived on the 3rd, sad! :)
I'm soooo excited for him to finally be there!

I miss him.
He has been such a big part of my life for the past three years it's rough not being able to talk to him every day. He's my best friend and I love him to pieces :)
happy birthday elder greening!
thanks for being in my life
hope you're enjoying the *warm* sunshine

dream a little dream of me.

mmm. I love all of these men. I wish that they lived in my room and serenaded me at night...or at all times of the day really.

11.18.2009

life is good, and I'm thankful.

my dad sent me this video. watch it.

can you ever just be whelmed?

dictionary definition of whelm:
To cover with water; submerge.

11.11.2009

my song.

Vaughan wrote this song for me our Junior year of High School. Isn't it pretty? He claims he didn't play it as well as he usually does [he was a little camera shy], but I still love it. He only let me record it because I begged him, and he was leaving. ha.

{please ignore me in this video. I'm a major dork.}

he's now in the MTC. going back to New Zealand for two years. sheesh I'm gonna miss him. if he weren't serving the Lord, I wouldn't have let him go :)

11.02.2009

because i want to have breakfast at tiffany's.

[hayley and I on halloween]

have you I ever told you how much I love her?
she's classy, elegant, and beautiful. not to mention a wonderful person. (not like I knew her or anything...) I love her films. roman holiday happens to be my favorite. but I don't discriminate against breakfast at tiffany's, sabrina, and especially not funny face.
I might even wear a wedding dress just like this someday.

my long lost love.

dear snow,

thank you for coming today. you are beautiful and wonderful. and oh how I needed you. thank you for allowing me to smell you all morning long and thank you for waiting for me to be outside so you could touch my cheek as I walked through campus. your presence has warmed my spirits despite your icy crystals.

snow and me, we go way back. some of my best memories include snow. lovely, wonderful memories. like my first kiss.

{picture this}

skeleton key. my basement. friends. boyfriend-to-be. lovesac. boyfriend-to-be has a curfew to make. hayley and brian (sooo cute at the time).

hayley drives us all to pleasant grove to boyfriend-to-be's mom's house. in. a. blizzard. scratch that. we have to pull over to let brian drive (hayley was about to kill us). hayley put in her "love songs" mix. hello tim and faith (let's make love...awkward?). nope. me in the middle. him right next to me (his arm safely around me).

we arrive at his house (pull into the driveway). lightly snowing now. we get out. hug. look at each other. then comes my famous "I think we kissed fast and then I hugged him even faster". jump back into the car. leave him there.

I think we just sealed the deal. boyfriend. vaughan.
looking back on it... it was magical. even though I wasn't sure if it really happened or not. I was 16. and I was probably the weirdest person in the world (still kinda am). it took me a while to get used to the whole kissing thing. after I got over that, I loved {love} it. :)

{this is alex and I laying on on snow-packed driveway last year. we were attempting to shovel it for my dad, we made snow angels instead.}
snow is magic.

weird.

"We are all a little weird and life's a little weird, and when we find someone who's weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love."

10.20.2009

please don't go, I'll eat you up I love you so.

I went to St. George this past weekend. It was beautiful. I saw Where The Wild Things Are. It was super cute. {see blog entry title} There were a bunch of little one-liners like that that made me smile. I also saw AIDA. Favorite part about it = we had awesome seats {thanks to our dear friend jennie :)} and one of the leads {Radames} was from Australia. The reason this was so amazing = he kept slipping up on certain words (for example: instead of easiER he would say easiAH) and it made it totally magical {as did the red rock backdrop and stars above at the Tuacahn}. Overall the trip was a complete success.

Funny stories from st. george {all of which you probably would have to be there to find funny}:

I drove down with KD and Drew Brady and their 2 year old daughter Leila {my mom works with KD's mom Jennie and for her brother Dr. Jones, we were going to stay in Jennie's house. My mom and Jennie were already down there} And let me just tell you, Leila is the cutest stinkin' thing. She was getting sick so she had a frog in her throat the whole weekend {making her sound hilarious and 10x cuter than she already does}. So as we were driving down, KD was asking me about Vaughan and his mission call and stufff.

KD- "Well that is really cool."
Leila- (had been watching her iPod, and out of nowhere turns her head to us and says) "Yeah, that's cool."

Then she goes back to watching her show. No big deal. How cute is that?

We went to a Halloween store down there, and it was pretty decked out. I went to look at a wall of stuff with my mom and KD and as I did so, I walked by one of those stupid monster things that have sensors {so they move when you walk by them}. Right I am passing it, the sword it was holding came down to chop my head off. Of course this is where I scream and jump on my mom {which in turn scares her}. KD just laughed at us. I found it kinda funny.

Here's another one I wish you all {when I say you all, I mean the entire three of you that read my blog :)} could have been there for, just to hear my mom and jennie tell us about all of their adventures before we got there. They are hilarious and both so fun to be around.
for example:

We were all sitting in the living room {minus drew}. KD asks where drew was and jennie says "he's probably in the bedroom playing with his thingy" and right after she said it, she had the most priceless look on her face {not believing she really just said that} Right away we all start laughing histerically. Yeah, she meant his iPhone. ha. really funny, but again, you probably should have been there.

PS. I am so looking forward to this. and it's extremely embarrassing.

How hot is he!??!

10.12.2009

britton.

This was a while ago. He's even cuter now. Yeah, I love him. For some reason he is most agitated when I am holding him, but I still think I'll be his favorite. I mean, really, how could I not be??

10.04.2009

nearer my god to thee.

Conference weekends are two of my favorite weekends of the whole year. How wonderful is it that we get to be blessed, uplifted, strengthened, and loved by amazing men and women of God? I always look forward to it, and I am never let down. I definitely wasn't this weekend.
There were a billion and one talks on love and the spirit. Couldn't have been better.

I know we shouldn't choose favorites, but I can't help it, I always love their talks:

I thank thee oh God for a prophet.

9.30.2009

james dean.

died 54 years ago today.

Thanks for being in this movie. {one of my favorites}

And thank you for being so unbelievably good looking.

I know basically everything about you. It is quite tragic that I never got to see your films on the big screen. {seeing as how you died 35 years before I was born, even 4 years before my dad was born}

But at least I have you in my room every night and a t-shirt with your face on it.

indecision.

I'm an extremely indecisive person. Really. Painfully indecisive. {Which is weird right? Because I am also overly opinionated to the point that people hardly care to hear my opinions (I share them far too often :)} But anyway, back to the indecision. My grandpa used to tell my mom "indecision is decision with the passage of time". Everything about this statement is true, of course. My indecisiveness often makes it difficult for me to pick favorites. However, there is something about favorites that I love. I love it when people tell me their favorites. Favorite foods, movies, songs, artists, books, people, quotes, brands, actors, bands, pretty much anything favorite--I love. I just think you can tell so much about a person by knowing their favorite things {when they're genuine}. I might be wrong, and sometimes it says nothing about people, but I think it's fun to talk about nonetheless. So, to tie these thoughts together, I would like to give credit to my grandpa's saying of indecision. I have learned in the most recent years, that by not deciding on favorites right away, I have learned a lot about myself and what my favorites truly are. Not having that premade decision in my mind, opens up limitless possibities. Indecision=decision with the passage of time. I'm thinking indecision isn't all bad, not all good either, but definitely not all bad. Get the connection? If not, don't worry, no point really. And now that I think back on this random thought-turned-ramble, it's quite meaningless.

BUT. since I love favorites so much, my favorites list will be coming soon. {I think it might be a magical experience creating such a thing}

I like knowing the things I love, it makes me feel less crazy, and a little more at home in my own body.

and that's just a little food for thought.

9.22.2009

yup.

I'm gonna miss him.

9.20.2009

Pure Brilliance.

"And if the surgeon is like a poet, then the scars you have made on countless bodies are like verses into the fashioning of which you have poured your soul." - Richard Selzer

Surgery and poetry are two things that completely blow my mind. I respect them both with all of my heart. And is that quote not just so deep? I think it's amazing. I wanted to say now that I absolutely love my Creative Writing class. And at this moment I would also like to give a shout out and thank you (even though she'll never see this) to my teacher Emily Dyer for making me read such brilliant work by authors like Bryan Doyle and Richard Selzer.

I feel like everything I've read has changed my life, even if it's just in the smallest of ways. This is why I love writing. The changing of lives part. No really, I adore the fact that that is even possible through something so simple, through something we use so regularly. Words can change lives. How cool is that??

9.16.2009

CONFESSIONS.

Hi my name is Molly Jane Moon and I have a blog-changing problem. It's serious. For some reason I feel the need to constantly be changing the look of my blog. Hopefully, someday, I'll settle on something amazing. I haven't found that yet, so please bear with me as I keep changing it. gracias.

I would also now like to point out that sometimes I get anxiety when I get really hot, I'm in a big crowd, or I can't make a decision (which is often). I tend to blush a lot, especially when I'm not even embarrassed. I wish my blog were cooler and that I actually wrote down half of what I am thinking (I think way too much and some of my thoughts might even be brilliant! if I only remembered what they were.) I can't whistle very well. I buy way too many t-shirts. I hate it when the conditioner and shampoo run out at different times. I hate shaving my legs, but love when they're smooth. I rarely do my homework. I love writing, but rarely do it. I think sunglasses are amazing and when I'm feeling bold I paint my nails red. Someday I would like to be considered classy like Audrey Hepburn. I am a bad driver and have no depth perception. I love a boy named Vaughan. I make hundreds of to-do lists and lists of things that I want/need but hardly ever do I use them or fulfill their contents. I love the smell of fresh laundry (I don't even know how to do laundry...shhh don't tell) I am not a fan of huge parties. Most of the time I'd rather watch a movie or read a book.

Just a few confessions of mine I needed to get out.

The end.

and straight on til morning.

Cute moment of the day:

Boyfriend sent me a voice memo playing a song from Peter Pan "The second star to the right..." Isn't he so cute? I think so.

Anxiety of the day:

SPIN CLASS

Umm....not looking forward to it! I'm pretty sure it's going to kick my butt and then do it fifty more times.

My first experience with Spinning: Whitney and I went to the intro class on Saturday. Bert, who happens to be just an all around good guy, was our intstructor. He's pretty awesome, got us way pumped. He even kept asking me if I had come to spin before (Yeah, I was that good, guess I just look like a pro.) So he was teaching us his "rules" and had us commit to come five more times. Of course, Whitney and I both, were feeling like we could do anything at that point. Five more times?? No big deal! But it just so happens that after that class was over we had only done about 12 minutes of spinning. 12 minutes!!! And I thought I was going to DIE. I didn't even participate the whole time we were doing the 12 minute workout because I couldn't! BUT. We did commit to five more times. Shoot me. I am scared. 6:15 tonight I'm pretty sure going tonight will be suicidal. 45 minutes of pure spin intensity!??!? WOW. Wish me luck.

Dear Whitney: If you make it through this and I don't, I just want you to know that you can have my optimus prime Tshirt. and the harry potter one that we made together, because yours didn't work.

Seasonal Bliss.

my feelings for sweet Summer.
Dear Summer,
Thank you for treating me so well. I thoroughly enjoyed your long, homeworkless nights. You always knew how to fill my days with nothing yet still make me happy. Thanks for the warm sun-filled days (with a few rainy ones thrown in). I have loved wearing my shorts and my swimsuit. The breeze you brought with you was very kind. BBQs, parties, swimming, my first trip to Lake Powell, reading whatever and whenever I please, wonderful summer movies, and a lot of ice cream. I will love you forever, but I'm ready for Fall.

Thanks again,
xo molly jane

my love for Fall.
Dear Fall,
Oh how I love you. I can feel you coming near. You bring so many great things into my life. Returning to school and feeling you inch closer fills my mind with memories and excitement for the future (whether that be near or distant.) I absolutely adore everything that you bring. I can practically smell you in the air, I can taste your yumminess. Leaves slowly shift from one color to the next. The night air is no longer free and warm, but crisp and mysterious. I love that about you. Everything is darker and richer. Deep oranges, reds, and greens. Boots, scarves, jackets. All ready for your new season. Thank you for being here so soon, and also thank you for bringing me that much closer to my beloved snow (probably the top of my list for why I love Fall.) Thank you.

All my love,
xo molly jane

Favorite Quote of the Day
Boy: "Yeah, I ran the St. George Marathon"
Girl: "Oh really? How long is that one?"
Boy: "Really long.... 26.2 miles."
Girl: "Are you serious?? That is so long!?!"

In my Head: "YEah, the St. George one is quite a bit longer than most?!?!"
(yes, I am rather sarcastic in my head)

FYI:
Marathon=26.2 miles (every time)

Rachel's getting MARRIED!
She's marrying her cute boyfriend Isaiah and I am so happy for her :) December 19th in SLC. I get to be her bridesmaid! Happy day. They are going to have such a wonderful life.

Football season has begun. GO COUGS! (Yes, it is true, we really did beat the number 3 team)
GO T-BIRDS! My little brother Alex is quite the footballer. Isn't he cute? #72 for life.
Yeah, we're his number 1 fans!

I got a gym pass. I know. Shocker. Whitney and I got them on Saturday night (which was quite the night, full of fun :) Gold's Gym sure knows how to sell. I'll be up in the gym just a workin' on my fitness.
Don't you think it will be a blast? I sure do. I got it mostly for the classes.

Especially this YOGA.

I'm excited. Hopefully I'll actually use it. Maybe it will lower my stressors :)

Oh and PS. I forgot to share my love for my new laptop. It's beeeeauuuutiful. I don't know how I ever lived without it :) Thank you daddy (late graduation present)!!!

I'm a Mac girl. All the way.

8.31.2009

Holla!

Look who's back.

I heart BYU. Yay for school!

8.11.2009

I'm FINALLY an AUNT!

Britton Jacob Moon was born on Sunday August 9 at... well really early in the morning. But he is just about the cutest thing I have EVER seen. Michelle did amazing. She let me and my mom in the room while she delivered and I don't think I've ever seen anything cooler! I was the designated videographer and babies really are such a miracle.

Oh he is such a doll. We found out yesterday that during birth he broke his collar bone. Sad, huh? Poor thing. He's adorable, I can't get enough of him. Jake and Michelle are the cutest parents ever. He looks so much like Jake it's amazing! I LOVE babies and this one's even better because he's my blood! haha. Britt is going to be quite the basketball star. He was 22 inches long and has the biggest hands and feet. He weighed in at 8.8 lbs.

This is kind of a sad picture but just look at his feet and those long fingers!

The proud parents Jake and Michelle Moon

Babies are the best!

Happpy happy birthday RACHEL dear!

Rachel Fairclough was my first {and bestest} friend from BYU!!! Sent straight from heaven :) Thank goodness for L&T.

Hope you have a beautiful day Rach, love ya girl!

7.29.2009

one more birthday shoutout... (until Baby BRITTON that is :)

happy birthday MOM!!!

This beautiful woman is 29 today {and yesterday} and I'm lucky enough to have her as my mommy.

It's hard to express how grateful I am for my mom. She's my best friend and I don't think she realizes how much she means to me. We always have fun together and she is always there for me to cry to, laugh with, and she supports me in everything I do. I Love her with ALL of my heart. She's the glue that holds our family together and she is just great in a million ways. Anyone who knows my mom loves her and her fun personality, she is extremely lovable. She's always the life of the party. Her beautiful smile will brighten anyone's day. I don't think I could go a day without talking to my mom. She knows me better than anyone and definitely knows what's best for me {even when I don't listen}.

Thanks for all you do Mom, I love you to the moon and back (and then some:)
XOXO

BIRTHDAYS galore. (and more to come)

Wishing a happpppy birrrtttthhdday to three very important people in my life!!!

TODAY is Grandma Jake's Birthday!
This lovely lady is one lucky duck. She's spending her birthday in NEWPORT BEACH with her sweet sister. She is quite the trooper and has been through a lot in her life. I look up to her in so many ways and I hope she has a fabulous day! I LOVE YOU GRANDMA. I don't know anyone who knows her that doesn't just love her. Thanks for being so wonderful and for your continuing love and support. xoxo

On July 23rd... my dad.... TURNED 50!! Happy 1/2 of a century
I've previously mentioned how awesome my dad is, but really let me tell you, he is the coolest guy in the world! Our family always has a blast together and he is a big part of that fun. We went up to the Farmhouse to celebrate his b-day and had a grand time. I hope his birthday was just what he wanted! I love you dad!! Thanks for being the best guy I know, I couldn't have made it this far without you.

and last... but definitely not least... Hayley Kathleen Brady...
turned 19 on 07/08/09!!! And she will be my bestie for life. I know I have posted this a little late {just a few weeks...}, but it's the thought that counts, no? I have no idea what I would do without Hayley. We have been best friends since 6th grade and have so many memories...
  • Hayley's many boyfriends... my one boyfriend {plus one night stand? what? :/ hahaha}
  • One Tree Hill/ Gilmore Girls/ The OC
  • Watching movie scenes over and over... and over.
  • Midnight movie showings... or midnight naps?
  • birds of a feather...haha
  • Lagoon
  • A cappella tour
  • Sleepovers {late night talks... oh wait, Hayley's sleeping}
  • Kneaders
  • IDAHO... started two weeks after me?? what? cute friends.
  • Florida
  • Newport Beach
  • EFY
and about a trillion more memories. High School would have been a nightmare without a friend like Hayley. Whenever we are together we have so much fun and I am incredibly grateful to have had her for so long, can't wait for the years to come! Thanks for being you Hayley and for always being a great example. I love ya!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY I LOVE YOU ALL
I'M LUCKY TO HAVE EACH OF YOU IN MY LIFE

7.21.2009

The Zoo, East High, and The Fray Concert. Typical Saturday.

The HOGLE ZOO. Who says you need kids to go to the zoo??

Whitney and I went to the Hogle Zoo on Saturday and, personally, I can't think of a better way to spend my day. We were having just as much fun as any kid there {probably because we're both still kids at heart and pretty much the coolest people I know}. This little adventure came about as an addition to our already planned trip to Salt Lake for the Fray concert. You know, since most normal people automatically think ZOO! whenever they get tickets for a concert! We decided to make a whole day out it.

Here are a few pictures. We took almost 200 pictures in one day. Really. We are so cool.

"Hurry! Take the picture with the little girl in it!" She was looking at me like I was crazy (half true). It's not every day you can get a picture sitting underneath giant spider legs. Whitney, Whitney, she LOVED the turtles. Lucky her! She had the opportunity to see what is like to BE a turtle.

I fit perfectly into his big gorilla arms. It's so precious. Kind of like tarzan and his mom. "Listen, what do you hear? Your heart!"

GIRAFFES! Probably my favorite things in the whole zoo. Their wobbly legs and long necks. They are little (big) cuties. I was super duper excited. {as you can tell}

"OOOH MOMMY! I WANNA RIDE ON THE LOG! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE! NO, NOT THE LION OR THE TIGER OR THE BEAR, the log with snakes on it?"
We just had to go on the Carousel and the Train. I think we may have been the only people over the age of 5 (besides the chaperones for the wee ones :)

GO COUGS! Of course we had to get our pics with the cougar, we're just like him. I bet he bleeds blue. Wait, what?

turtle(slow)+fossa(loner)+penguin(supercool)=WHITNEY

tiger(sexy)+lemur(swingin'.haha)+giraffe(spotted)=MOLLYJANE

AFTER our journey at the zoo...

Every WILDCAT's DREAM!

We went to explore East High. Where Three of my favorite movies were filmed. Yes, I LOVE High School Musical, I don't deny it. And we even got the infamous jumping picture.

Like I've said before... We are SO cool. It took us a few tries with the timer, but look how perfect it turned out!!!

and here are a few more pictures of our Wildcat adventure.

It's kind of lame because the school says "Salt Lake High School East"?? The picture with the red lunch table, right behind me is the lunchroom (where a lot of the magic happened) and inside there were a bunch of signs telling people how good their alarm works and to not break in (haha). We had to get the pic with our sweet Wildcat wristbands. I even got a giant knot in my calf muscle from all the jumping pictures (which ended in a huge bruise... so worth it).

OVERALL: HSM Success

Later that night... we enjoyed beautiful music... from these guys and these guys...

They were uh-mazing. We got a little confused with the ticket buying and ended up down in the pit, right at the front. So we paid double the amount we thought we were paying (how does 2-for-1 even work??), but it was awesome. I have a little crush on the lead singer for Jack's Mannequin. He was, really, brilliant. :) I LOVE the piano in a band.

july, a time for good times.

More activities from the month...

Right here is where LAKE POWELL should be inserted, but I don't have any pictures to show for it! My daddio put them all on his laptop, so that shall be explained and remembered a different time. Powell is a special place...

FAMILY PICTURES.
ha. So, Elder Chase Carter returned from his mission almost a month ago and we all {the moon clan} got together for his homecoming on the 12th at my aunt Melissa's house. My grandma moon has been wanting to have family pictures and since we were all together, we decided it was the perfect time. One problem: no photographer? No big deal. We just had my uncle Lynn's family and the rest of us take turns taking pictures with Stef's, The Carte
r's, and my digital camera just across the street from the house. It was kind of humorous, but I think they turned out alright :) Here's a couple of just my fam.

This past weekend.

Hayley and I decided it was a grand night to take pictures last Friday... and none of them really turned out. BUT, we had fun!! We don't hang out as much as either of us would like, and I miss my pal! We always have a blast together. We went to Canyon Crest and took pictures of the place where our friendship began... the double doors!!! We would meet there during recess to discuss how horrible our friends treated us and how our mom's told us we needed new friends, and shortly thereafter best friends {inseparable, a packaged pair} were created. I love Miss Hayley with all of my heart. And I'm so happy for her {she has a new boyfriend :) }. It was also her 19th birthday this month {the 8th} but I was in lake powell. Total BUMMER. She deserves her own post. Soon to come. A few pictures from our night.
This is our before shot...haha.
and after...we look so much happier! {the boy who took this photo, was NOT pleased. I really think he was so bugged that I would ask him to take a picture for us. It was weird that there were even people at Canyon Crest on a Friday night?? including us. ha.}

I love Hayley!
