tumbling.

a few of my favorites from my tumblr as of late.
I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I do,
xo

on my mind.

Sometimes I can't think of anything to write about. So I'm just going to ramble. Here is what's in my head on this day (October 9, 2012):

Every single morning I am seriously distraught about what to wear. Jeffrey doesn't quite understand it, but my day is somehow always worse if I don't like what I'm wearing. Is this vain? I don't know. It isn't that I need to look like I just walked off the runway, but I like to be comfortable and feel good about myself. This translates to me (seriously) stressing about my outfit.

In my Spanish class the other day we were talking about some grammatical concept that I still don't understand and I told my classmate (simply put) that Cary Grant is the best (note: I said this in Spanish). She responded with, "Cary Grant...who is she?"
She.
Whaaat? No. He. Cary Grant is a he. How do you not know who Cary Grant is?
Sadly, this isn't the first time this has happened. Most have never heard of James Dean or Gregory Peck either. Just so everyone knows, my children will be very well versed on all of the above (and then some...see: Audrey Hepburn, Gene Kelly).

Speaking of Cary Grant...Have you ever seen Sleepless in Seattle? If you've read my blog at all, you know I'm a big fan. There is one scene where Rita Wilson is telling Tom Hanks (and whoever plays her husband in the movie) the story of An Affair to Remember. As she's telling it, she starts crying. Actually it is more like full on weeping. The whole scene is just pure greatness (And if you haven't seen it you need to watch it immediately). Because of this little scene one hard day (last year sometime, I think) my mom and I decided to watch An Affair to Remember. And I don't know if it is a girl thing (like they claim it to be in Sleepless in Seattle) or if we were just highly hormonal, but all of a sudden, towards the end of the movie: there we sat. Crying our eyes out. Real, actual tears streaming down our faces. We then looked at each other and started laughing out loud. Hard. We were actually laugh-crying. It was one of my favorite moments ever.

Please watch this movie for me. Keep a box of tissues close by. And don't forget to enjoy Cary's charm--everything about him screams charm, does it not?

the miserable.

I. am. dying.
This looks beautiful.
(Anne Hathaway's voice, whatever. Her acting? Looks pretty spot on.)
Jean Valjean. Javert. Cosette. Marius.
I think there was only one shot of Eponine...
which is a crying shame..
but there is more to come, I am sure.

You guys, this is going to be incroyable!

3.08.2012

happiness is...

cinnamon buns ice cream {I love you ben and jerry}
underlining words in books {mostly the pretty ones}

seeing friends on campus {I wish I could see them more}

two hour classes {as opposed to four}

pretend Spring {snow, I love you, but you let me down this year}
forehead kisses {a special kind of comfort}
being engaged {I'm kind of over-the-moon about it}
seeing my fiancé whenever possible {which isn't a lot, but he's kind of my favorite}
sleepless in seattle {seriously, it never gets old}

8.14.2011

the beginning and the end of it.

Lately I've kind of had a thing for the Fitzgeralds.
You know, F. Scott and Zelda.
And I've said before how I obsess over little things then research them to death.
Well, ever since I saw Midnight in Paris, these two have been on my mind.
I literally think about them all the time (a little much? probably.)

But please, humor me.
And just enjoy some of the gems I found.

Like what Scott had to say about Zelda:
“I fell in love with her courage, her sincerity and her flaming self-respect and it’s these things I’d believe in even if the whole world indulged in wild suspicions that she wasn’t all that she should be…I love her and that’s the beginning and the end of it.”

And what she wrote to him:
“Don’t you think I was made for you? I feel like you had me ordered—and I was delivered to you—to be worn—I want you to wear me like a watch-chain or button-hole bouquet—to the world.”

A little interview where Scott decided to ask some questions of his own (and Zelda's brilliant response):
"What do you want your daughter to do, Mrs. Fitzgerald, when she grows up?" Scott Fitzgerald inquired in his best reportorial manner, "not that you'll try to make her, of course, but--"
"Not great and serious and melancholy and inhospitable, but rich and happy and artistic. I don't mean that money means happiness, necessarily. But having things, just things, objects makes a woman happy. The right kind of perfume, the smart pair of shoes. They are great comforts to the feminine soul."

I found that last one in Dear Scott, Dearest Zelda: The Love Letters of F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald (a book that has moved to the top of my: to purchase list.)

Can you see it?
Why I'm so in love with them?
I've been reading a lot of Fitzgerald in and out of school this year and I can't get enough of these guys. The royalty of the Jazz Age. Their tragic lives. All of it intrigues me.

I could go on and on about why I love these quotes so much. Why the words make me giddy, but I think they stand alone beautifully.

And here's one more to savor:
“Why should graves make people feel in vain? Somehow I can’t find anything hopeless in having lived.” (Zelda)

skinny love.

One of my favorite bands in high school was Meg & Dia. (they are two sisters. from Utah.)
I think my sister may have introduced them to me?
I would blast them in the blue Chevy truck I drove and my high school boyfriend would make fun of me.
But I didn't care, because I loved them. Scratch that. I love them.
The Dia part of the band just so happens to be on NBC's "The Voice"
She totally rocked it last week and for a couple of months she has been posting weekly covers on their YouTube page.
This one was too great not to share:

Love this song. Love her. Win-win.

Also:
I go home on Thursday.
And I am really, really going to miss this boy.

He melts my heart.

6.09.2011

I heart superheroes.

There is something about superhero movies that I just love.
They are always cheesey. The nature of the genre, maybe?
They always have attractive men.
They always have some sort of awesome love story thrown in the mix (I can't help myself)
And they just make me happy.
X-men happens to be my absolute favorite.
I've never read any comics...
But I watched the X-men cartoon growing up (that and the Power Rangers were my faves).

When I was 16 my BFF Hayley took me to Florida for her birthday and we ran into some of these heroes of mine at the Islands of Adventure Universal Studios theme park.
Cyclops was right there. (it was pretty sweet)
We waited in line to get a picture with him and he looks at us and says (quite rudely),
"Do you even know who I am??"
I respond immediately, "Of course we do."
In my head I was like....uhh....he's an X-men (man?)...Cyclops....wait. That doesn't sound right??!
Naturally, I don't tell him who he is because #1 HE knows who he is and #2 he made me question if I really did know who he was and #3 I couldn't convince myself his name was Cyclops because he really does not look like a cyclops.
Jerk. Made me question my superhero knowledge skills. His job is to look awesome and take pictures with people. Nothing more. I was so bothered by this interaction. (Don't worry, I'm over it now....Oh and isn't this a GREAT pic? hahaha)

Anyway. Last night I saw X-Men: First Class (or whatever it is called) and I LOVED it. I thought it was perfect. James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender were awesome. I liked everything about it. I'm the worst at reviewing movies though so I'm going to stop there. All I ever have to say is that I love them or I don't. (more love than not).

I just really wanted to tell someone of my undying love for superheroes. X-men. Superman. Batman. Spiderman. (Apparently it is mostly the man ones that have my heart)

And I also wanted to show you another picture of Hayley and I in 2006...because I know you loved the first one so much.
Things I love about this:
1. It shows my mom's amazing photography skills (....)
2. We're fake sleeping? But also smiling...with our eyes closed...
3. That we actually documented this.
4. That bed was the fluffiest bed I've ever slept in.
5. Hayley. I love her.

5.07.2011

my so-called life.

If you're looking for a lot of teen angst with an added bonus of '90s fashion...this show is for you.

"Sometimes someone says something really small and it just fits right into this empty place in your heart."
-Angela Chase (Claire Danes)
I love her.

And I feel like Jordan Catalano (Jared Leto) is the '90s version of Zac Efron.
He's seriously a babe. A teenage dream. As in, I'd hang him on my wall for sure. I have a love/hate relationship with his character though, because he's so worthless but so good looking at the same time. He really does have some great lines though (not that many, more like great body language...the hair toss/blue-eyed stare down...irresistible).

Can you kind of see it? I don't know if these are the best pictures to display...but there were moments in the show I felt like I was watching Zac Efron. Which is kind of funny because I just watched a movie recently with him and Claire Danes.

I much prefer her as Angela Chase.

I wish I could find a video of the scene where Jordan backs Angela up against a fence and he says
"Why are you like this?"
"Like what?"
"Like how you are."

a still of the scene...the whole season is streaming on netflix in case you were wondering.
I don't know what it is about this that just gets me. The way he says it...the way she's so obsessed with him. It's great. It reminds me of high school. (Which is probably embarrassing)

Well. Now you know about my obsession for the week.
Don't worry about it that I just stalked anything and everything Jared Leto online for quite a while. I feel like you get even more points if you're in a band. And can actually sing. He seems pretty weird. But. So. Hot.

4.08.2011

get's me every time.

This song makes me think of Liverpool.
(and one of the best weekends ever)

I could listen to his voice forever.
Is it not just outrageously sexy?
Seriously. I don't think many songs are better than this one.

It has been on repeat at many different points in my life.
And for some reason, today is one of those days.

2.11.2011

for all the beliebers.

Did I see Never Say Never (in 3D??!?) at MIDNIGHT last night?
Yes, yes I did.
Don't judge me until you see it yourself.
It's a problem, I know.
He's a baby.
But I LOVE him.

Not only is he unbelievably adorable, he's also unbelievably talented.

And I would love to tell everyone about this new obsession of mine.
I LOVE JUSTIN BIEBER.

Seriously, I used to be skeptic.
Never, ever again will I deny my case of
Bieber Fever.

PS I am 20, not 14, and I don't even care.

8.27.2010

she & him.

SHE
K really? I love her.
She rocks out with her tambourine.
(I dream of being on stage rocking out with a tambourine someday)
She's adorable.
I'm in love with her voice.
She has the best style of anyone anywhere.
She can act.
She plays the ukulele.
She's basically my idol.

Oh & HIM?
His voice is darn sexy.

Their concert = everything I could have dreamed of + more.
if only I could have been just a little closer...
or she and I were best friends
or I was her...
if only.

Our attempt at a picture with the stage.

Don't mind my awful videography skills.

ah. LOVE.

[love is more thicker than forget]

BY E. E. CUMMINGS
love is more thicker than forget
more thinner than recall
more seldom than a wave is wet
more frequent than to fail

it is more mad and moonly
and less it shall unbe
than all the sea which only
is deeper than the sea

love is less always than to win
less never than alive
less bigger than the least begin
less littler than forgive

it is most sane and sunly
and more it cannot die
than all the sky which only
is higher than the sky

I found this poem.
Isn't it delightful?
I like that it stands pretty on its own.
No need to go deep,
but you can if you want to.

I remember when Mr. Davis introduced E.E. Cummings to me my sophomore year of high school.
That was a good year.

My mom told me I was obsessed with love.
I say...
Maybe just a little bit.

Oh well.
Because, really, what can I do about it?
I'm a hopeless romantic.
(Just as I've mentioned...many times before)

8.02.2010

dear joshua,

it was about four years ago that I first fell in love with you.
your yummy vocals and sweet lyrics.
who wouldn't, right?
today I found out that you will be in the same city as me on October 19th.
that city happens to be a little place called London.
I can't think of a better place for us to fall in love.
and get married (eventually).

let me know what you think!

in the mean time, I guess I'll just buy tickets to your show.

see you soon,

molly jane. (the future mrs. radin)

7.07.2010

happy thoughts

It really, really does.
And yes, I will be in LONDON for this premiere. Be jealous.
And yes, I will be leaving for LONDON in 53 days. Not bad at all.
Sorry Provo, I won't be missing you too much.

Does the trailer to this give you chills?? Me, it does.

Maybe the cutest thing ever? I forgot how awesome this movie is.

Hahahahahhaahaha. This is one of my favorite (if not my favorite) SNL skits. It always makes me laugh. Out loud. It never gets old. (That was for you Casey).

I know, I do lots of cool things with my time.

6.16.2010

theme song.

This is the kind of song that you (okay I) would dance to in your underwear in the kitchen (or bedroom, or bathroom) on full volume, using a wooden spoon (or a hairbrush, or a curling iron) as a microphone (singing as loud as possible).

It makes me happy.

you should be wilder, you're no fun at all.
yeah, thanks for the input.

She is one of my favorites. And I love the video. She's just so darn cute. And has almost as awesome dance moves as I do. (ha)

6.15.2010

number seven

you're a babe. and I could watch you all day long.

and that's pretty much all I have to say about the world cup.
OH has anyone else noticed the constant buzzing (like a beehive) during the soccer games?
don't they get sick of making (and hearing) the loud noises?

very interesting.

6.10.2010

though sometimes I forget.

Come and open up your folding chair next to me
My feet are buried in the sand and there’s a breeze
There’s a shadow, you can’t see my eyes
And the sea is just a wetter version of the skies

Let’s get a silver bullet trailer and have a baby boy
I’ll safety-pin his clothes all cool and you’ll grafitti up his toys
I’ve got a perfect body, though sometimes I forget
I’ve got a perfect body cause my eyelashes catch my sweat
Yes, they do, they do…

Now I’ve been sitting on this abandoned beach for years
Waiting for the salty water to cover up my ears
But every time the tide come in to take me home
I get scared, and I’m sitting here alone
Dreaming of the dolphin song…

Maybe one day you will understand
I don’t want nothing from you but to sweetly hold your hand
Till that day just please don’t be so down
Don’t make frowns, you silly clown

Just come and open up your folding chair next to me
My feet are buried in the sand and there’s a breeze
There’s a shadow, you can’t see my eyes
And the sea is just a wetter version of the skies

There’s a shadow, you can’t see my eyes…

oh regina. I love you.
photo.

6.09.2010

forever yours. faithfully.

I kind of wanted to cry last night as I watched the season finale of Glee.
Chills. WOW. Faithfully (favorite journey song. ever.) WOW.
To Sir With Love. WOW. Somewhere Over the Rainbow. WOW.
Quinn had her baby.
(best line of the night...Quinn: (to Puck, while in labor) you suck, you suck, you suck!) hahahah.

VERY appropriate.

My dear sister-in-law is pushing out a baby right NOW.
Literally...pushing.
Baby Beckham is comingggggg.
My brother is gonna be a DADDY.
and here I am...holding down the fort (at the hospital) because the rest of my family deserted me...
But's it's OKAY because we get to talk through SKYPE.
Which I decided is basically soooo awesome.
I also decided that my nephew Brit is too cute for his own good.
He and his cousin will be exactly 10 months apart! (august 9th and june 9th)

AHHHHH.
I'm excited.
REALLY.
Sooo excited. And I just can't hide it.

I can't get enough of this song.
again,
WOW.
It is the epitome of awesome.

PEACE. LOVE. BABIES. and JOURNEY.

6.08.2010

there's just too many.

I've been trying to compile a top ten favorite movie list...and for a moment...I thought I had finished it...but then I realized it would basically be impossible. I just love too many movies.

I decided I'm okay with just loving all movies though. Why should I pick favorites when there really isn't any need?

"I've been coming here every summer of my adult life, and every summer there she is oiling and lotioning, lotioning and oiling... smiling. I can't take this no more!"
"I've got a thing for guys who've got a thing for me"
"Once you been up there you know you've been someplace."
"A girl should be two things, classy and fabulous" (the movie is in french...that's just a quote by her)
"What? I'm being her mother! That's what mothers do with daughters; they talk about how to look prettier."

"Because it's magic. Magic has to be believed. It's the only way it's real."
"This is one of those key moments in life, when it's possible you can be really, genuinely cool - and I'm failing 100%. I absolutely and totally and utterly adore you and I think you're the most beautiful woman in the world and more importantly I genuinely believe and have believed for some time now that we can be best friends."
"There's a difference between like and love. Because, I like my Skechers, but I love my Prada backpack."
"We have to go shopping. Your shirt is bedazzled."
"Bedazzled with rhinestones!"
"The only thing that does any good is to jump in a cab and go to Tiffany's. Calms me down right away. The quietness and the proud look of it; nothing very bad could happen to you there. If I could find a real-life place that'd make me feel like Tiffany's, then - then I'd buy some furniture and give the cat a name!"
"How come when I wanted to ask Eunice out everyone made fun of me, but then Sebastian likes her and suddenly she's cool? Screw you guys. I hate high school."
"Destiny is something we've invented because we can't stand the fact that everything that happens is accidental."
"What happens if a car comes?"
"We die."

"It's not because I don't love you... Because I do. And it's not because I don't miss you, because I miss you already. It'll just mean that I'm not better. And the story isn't over yet."
"He's so... He's so... He's so rich."

There is always a movie that will make me feel better.
At least for 90 minutes or so (generally longer as I think about it for long after it ends).

It is not any fun at all trying to put a number on my love.
(and I did try)

but that's just so you know. (which I'm sure you were dying to. hah.)

(OH, and yes, I do have waaaay too much time on my hands at work.)

5.07.2010

chuck.

Once upon a time...my dear friend Whitney introduced me to a little show called Chuck. Naturally, I fell in love instantly. Chuck (the character) can be described as being somewhere in between Seth Cohen and Jim Halpert, making him hopelessly adorable (see The OC and The Office respectively). Not only is the said character just awesome in every way, but so are all of the other characters on the show. It's clever and witty and pure entertainment. If you haven't seen the show, you might want to start. No, you definitely want to start.

As the story goes I found out last year sometime that Chuck (aka Zachary Levi) would be the prince like character in the up and coming Disney movie Tangled (aka Rapunzel...due out the end of this year). Well, obviously, I did not realize this meant the boy can SING...so when I came across this article on People.com, I was greatly surprised and HIGHLY pleased.

"'I sing all day long on set,' he said. 'A lot of showtunes, Justin Timberlake ... whatever pops into my head, I sing it ... I think life should be a musical. I always hate it when people watch a musical and they go, 'Oh, it's so unrealistic. No one just breaks into song in the middle of their day.' Yeah, they do. They do, if they're me.'"

No...did he really just say that? I think he and I were MFEO for sure. Geez. More guys should think like him.

This has definitely furthered my love for Chuck (or Zachary Levi...I know him better as Chuck...so I'm still gonna call him that). And Kat McPhee, well, she's always been my girl. Please watch the video below, and enjoy.
